【摘要】:Usersoffiretestdataoftenneedaquantitativeindicationofthequalityofthedatapresentedinatestreport.Thisquantitativeindicationisreferredtoasthex201C;measurementuncertaintyx201D;.Therearetwoprimaryreasonsforestimatingtheuncertaintyoffiretestresults.ISO/IEC17025requiresthatcompetenttestingandcalibrationlaboratoriesincludeuncertaintyestimatesfortheresultsthatarepresentedinareport.Firesafetyengineersneedtoknowthequalityoftheinputdatausedinananalysistodeterminetheuncertaintyoftheoutcomeoftheanalysis.1.1ThisguidecoverstheevaluationandexpressionofuncertaintyofmeasurementsoffiretestmethodsdevelopedandmaintainedbyASTMInternational,basedontheapproachpresentedintheGUM.Theuseinthisprocessofprecisiondataobtainedfromaroundrobinisalsodiscussed.1.2Theguidelinespresentedinthisstandardcanalsobeappliedtoevaluateandexpresstheuncertaintyassociatedwithfiretestresults.However,itmaynotbepossibletoquantifytheuncertaintyoffiretestresultsifsomesourcesofuncertaintycannotbeaccountedfor.ThisproblemisdiscussedinmoredetailinAppendixX2.1.3Applicationofthisguideislimitedtoteststhatprovidequantitativeresultsinengineeringunits.Thisincludes,forexample,methodsformeasuringtheheatreleaserateofburningspecimensbasedonoxygenconsumptioncalorimetry,suchasTestMethodE1354.1.4Thisguidedoesnotapplytoteststhatprovideresultsintheformofindicesorbinaryresults(forexample,pass/fail).Forexample,theuncertaintyoftheFlameSpreadIndexobtainedaccordingtoTestMethodE84cannotbedetermined.1.5Insomecasesadditionalguidanceisrequiredtosupplementthisstandard.Forexample,theexpressionofuncertaintyofheatreleaseratemeasurementsatlowlevelsrequiresadditionalguidanceanduncertaintiesassociatedwithsamplingarenotexplicitlyaddressed.1.6Thisfirestandardcannotbeusedtoprovidequantitativemeasures.1.7ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.
