【摘要】:TheAEexaminationmethoddetectsstructurallysignificantflawsinFRPstructuresviatestloading.ThedamagemechanismsthataredetectedinFRPincluderesincracking,fiberdebonding,fiberpullout,fiberbreakage,delamination,andsecondarybondfailure.FlawsinunstressedareaswillnotgeneratedetectableAE.FlawslocatedwithAEmaybeexaminedbyothermethods.1.1Thistestmethodprovidesguidelinesforacousticemission(AE)examinationsoffiberglassreinforcedplastic(FRP)fanbladesofthetypeusedinindustrialcoolingtowersandheatexchangers.1.2Thistestmethodusessimulatedserviceloadingtodeterminestructuralintegrity.1.3Thistestmethodwilldetectsourcesofacousticemissioninareasofsensorcoveragethatarestressedduringthecourseoftheexamination.1.4Thistestmethodappliestoexaminationsofnewandin-servicefanblades.1.5ThistestmethodislimitedtofanbladesofFRPconstruction,withlength(hubcenterlinetotip)oflessthan10ft,andwithfiberglasscontentgreaterthan15%byweight.1.6AEmeasurementsareusedtodetectemissionsources.Othernondestructiveexamination(NDE)methodsmaybeusedtoevaluatethesignificanceofAEsources.ProceduresforotherNDEmethodsarebeyondthescopeofthistestmethod.1.7Valuesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.SIunitsgiveninparenthesesareprovidedforinformationonly.1.8Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
