【摘要】:Thisspecificationcoversthemanufacture,assembly,recommendedmaintenanceanduseofcompleteresidentialbasketballsystems.Thisspecificationisintendedtoreducethepotentialhazardsassociatedwiththeinstallationanduseofresidentialbasketballsystems.Thisspecificationisnotintendedtoapplytothefollowing:Equipmentintendedtobeusedinplacesofpublicassembly,suchas,butnotlimitedto,schools,parks,publicandprivaterecreationalfacilities.Individualcomponents,suchasrim,backboard,pole,portablebasesystem,net,orothercomponentwhenthatcomponentisnotsoldasacompleteresidentialbasketballsystemasdefinedinthisspecification.Anyresidentialbasketballsystemthatismountedtoanystructureorsurfaceotherthanthatwhichispurchasedaspartofacompleteresidentialbasketballsystem.Examplesinclude,butarenotlimitedto,roofmounting,wallmounting,oranylocallyorself-manufacturedcomponents.Anybasketballequipmentthatdoesnotuseafullsizerim,18-in.(45.72-cm)diameter,orisdesignedforoperationalheightsoflessthen6ft6in.(1.98m)fromtheplayingsurfacetothebottomofthebackboard.Accessoriesandadd-ons.Thisspecificationshallapplyonlytoproductsmanufacturedaftersixmonthsfromthedatethisspecificationispublished.Thisspecificationdoesnotcoverproductperformanceorquality,exceptasrelatedtosafety.Thetestsareintendedtouncoverhazards,ratherthantodemonstratethereliabilityofthesystem.Thefactthatamechanismormaterialofasystemfailsduringtestingonlyisrelevantifthefailurecreatesapotentialhazard.Therationaleforprovisionsinthisspecificationaregiveninand.Thevaluesstatedininch-poundaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconverstionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
